cancer. Since Forest Moon’s goal is to provide
services free of cost, Forest Moon relies on sponsors to fund each retreat
or workshop. Whether you are interested in sponsoring a full weekend retreat or
part of a writing workshop, a variety of options are available based on your level of financial
commitment. To ensure the success of its programs, Forest Moon asks

The Healing Haven Campaign is officially underway. It is with great enthusiasm that we invite you to participate in our first fundraising effort to raise $670,000 to construct the Healing Haven. With the completion of its homestead, Forest Moon will provide Vermont and surrounding states with the first permanent retreat center dedicated to improving the quality of life for cancer survivors and their family caregivers. Hosting retreats at its own facility will also save Forest Moon thousands of dollars in rental fees each year, allowing more money to be devoted to programs that directly serve the cancer community. |

Through grassroots’ fundraising efforts, Forest Moon has raised over $75,000 toward the Healing Haven budget. Several fundraising events and over 150 individual donors have contributed to the cause. Forest Moon also received two grants in the amount of $10,000 each from The Redducs Foundation of Vermont and the Gilder Foundation of New York. Those contributing during the first $100,000 start-up phase of the campaign are recognized as members of Gil’s Groundbreakers, named in memory of Gil Parker, father of one of the co-founders. As Gil used to say, “There’s strength in numbers.” Forest Moon is forever indebted to these individuals whose support is critical to the organization’s early stage of development. |

Although Forest Moon is submitting a number of grant applications to meet fundraising goals, the success of the campaign relies on private donors like you who are willing to support the cause.
